GIS-in-Central-Asia Conference - GISCA 2014
The main objectives of this English language conference are to bring together GIS academics, researchers and practitioners in the Central Asian countries and encourage international cooperation and knowledge exchange in GIS education.
In 2014, GISCA is focused on the theme of "Silk Road in space and time: the Urumqi node". GIScience as a conceptual foundation, Geoinformatics as a methodology and GIS as software are powerful instruments for linking information from different sources by location. This is exactly what is needed to manage our environments and natural resources, and to assess risks arising from natural, technical and social factors.
